Left on a Cruise.. Came home Engaged

Finally... After 3 years 9 months 16 days and 22 hours Lisa and I are engaged!! Can you believe it? I still cannot fathom that I am engaged. However, I have to say it is pretty exciting. Well, I guess I can go into a little detail about how i did it.

Well, it was on the Carnival Imagination. It was absolutely perfect. We were up on the top deck with our parents and siblings lingering in the background. I had a card for Lisa that
basically
told her how long we had been dating down till the second. I had done this on a previous card and Lisa is so big on cards I figured that I had to give her one whenever I proposed. I did not want to give away that I was proposing through the card and that plan worked out perfectly. Lisa read the card and looked
at me with her eyes closed...(because the bottom of the card said to) and then I gave her a kiss... still she had no idea. Then I told her to close them again.. she started to tear up a little but still was a little anxious.

She opened her eyes.. and nearly passed out. Yes, you did babe. She could barely stand up. I told her that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her and through her tears... she told me YES!!
That is basically the story. If you want to know in more detail then contact me. We do have the entire thing on film. As my mom very proudly videotaped the entire proposal. Way to go Mom!!
Let the planning begin. Lisa and I are very excited and cannot wait to get married.

I guess I can officially say that our date is.....(ready??)

January 30th 2010

Yep, there it is!!!

I am working on a website for our wedding, so as soon as I can get that finished I will publish it and post the link on here.

It's About Dang Time!!! Summer Time that Is!!!

Geez...(that is all I can say to express my feelings toward the culmination of another semester) School is finally over, and now my summer routine can begin. I am exhausted from finals, that was probably the most school work I have completed and studied for in my entire college career so far.
It was rough, however, I did finish pretty strong. I finished with higher than a 3.0, so in my book, that's satisfactory.

So, I'm back out to the "Ridge." For those of you who don't share a role in my daily routine.. please let me illustrate as best as possible. Here we go:

5:20a.m.- First alarm goes off.. definitely not moving or functioning at this point

5:25- First alarm goes off again.. Result= snooze

5:30-First alarm goes off again.. Result= Turn it off to wait for 2nd alarm

5:40- Second alarm goes off.. Result= Finally Open my eyes, roll over, make it up

5:41-5:46- Stumble through dark room to get dressed, brush teeth, and grab granola bar

5:55-6:02- Make it to work

6a.m.-11a.m.- Work hard doing a variety of things varying from mowing greens, fairways, to whatever else Blake tells me to do.

11a.m.-11:40- Eat Lunch with the amigos

11:45a.m.- Resume work until I get off at 2p.m.

2p.m.- Until
If I'm not playing golf in the afternoon, it's back to the house for a shower, quick change, and over to the Knights house for relaxing and spending time with my favorite person in the world.....Larry Fedora. Hahahahaha Just Kidding!!! Lisa Knight. From here I usually eat supper, cook supper, or scrounge around for something that I will eat. No, all kidding aside, the Knight family has provided a plethora of gratitude and food to me over these past 3 1/2 years. I have been greatly blessed by my amazing girlfriend and her fantastic family. After supper, I'm usually about to pass out because I am so exhausted from the entire day. So, I usually fall asleep and start the routine all over again.

So, summer is finally here. Thank goodness...However, I do have to take a summer class to add another 3 hours to the completion of my college degree. I cannot wait until our cruise... It could not get here any faster. 55 days days, but hey, who's counting? It is going to be a blast. I have taken some advice and I will start on my next several blogs to start the alphabetical topic list starting with the letter "A" and centering blogs around that letter all the way to "Z." (Thanks Mrs. Cindy) I am working on these next topics, I feel that it will be rather entertaining.

So hold on, it is going to be a fun ride.

It's Been Too Long...But I'm Back & Better than Ever!!

Well...Well.. My life has been a flash in the past 3 weeks. From weekend baseball games and the fantastic spring game to midterms and the coming of finals to MY MACBOOK CRASHING!!!

Yes, it's true!! I know... I know.. Apple's don't crash, but mine has to be the runt who couldn't make it.

However, after a long night of stress, worry, and probably about 2 hours of sleep I realized that my computer was under warranty. Hoorayy!! Wow... I never thought my life would be so worthless and uneventful without my Macbook by my side. I really thought I was going to lose my mind. Yes, it was that bad.

Allright, well enough about the Macbook episode. This years Spring Game was absolutely phenomenal. Wow.. Coach Fedora is Mr. Intensity. I believe he could wake the dead with some of his challenging speeches. As far as my opinions on the team, I believe Austin Davis is going to be a great fit for Fedora's style offense. M.Young was good, but Davis looked far better in every category. Fletcher was Fletcher, however, I do believe that he looks sharper and maybe has gained some quickness. Torris Magee will be a superstar at Southern Miss. I'm sure he is thrilled with Fedora and his spread offense. I was most impressed by Jonathan Massey.. or as I like to call him: Jonathan Massive. He is HUGE!!! And he can move. Shawn Nelson needs to catch passes and everything will be fine!!!

I think we will have no problems with scoring points, and our defense looks like they will hurt you. So, let me be the first to say...Look out for Southern Miss, they might surprise some people this year.

I am glad to be blogging again, and I am planning to stick with it a little better, because I heard my fair share of complaints from my lack of blogging. So, I believe that pretty much does it for this blog, but this semester is heading to a close and I only have 1 more left!!! I cannot wait. Only about 88 or 89 days to the cruise. I believe... You may have to correct me Mrs. Cindy.

I hope everyone enjoys my post, and I will hope to keep them coming...

As always,

Madness & Memphis move into Hattiesburg

It definitely has been too long... However, my life was totally dominated by: Socrates, utilitarianism, morals, and media ethics. I officially shutdown everything for this test and did something that I usually do not do too much of... study. I simply had no choice, in this class: Media Ethics, we have a midterm, final, and two papers. So I'd say doing well on the tests is rather vital. The test went well, in case anyone was wondering... I only wrote for 50 minutes straight and five pages of notebook paper. So enough about Ethics garbage.

So today was pretty exciting. The #2 ranked Memphis Tigers came into Reed Green Coliseum and challenged Larry and the boys. So my morning began, with a call from David Beatty at 9:00 a.m. I headed toward the coliseum and got in line. I'm really not going to say too much about the situation, but the Southern Miss event coordinators really did a poor job with today's activities. I simply do not understand several of their policies. It was announced that the game was sold out on Wednesday or early Thursday and several of the cops and staff were shocked that so many students showed up to get in early. Okay.. Enough about that. With much stress, I finally made it into my normal seat...front row..student section. Thanks to Mrs. Norma.. for helping her Loonies out.

The game went well, and it really felt good to see Reed Green packed. Final score: 79-67..the bad guys. Man, does it get loud in there. However, the player of the game was Jeremy Wise. He really stepped up and played fantastic. Again, I challenge people to come to Reed Green and come to a few games....Okay all the games. However, I really do encourage people to buy some season tickets while you can.. Mr. Fedora spoke today at halftime and I have to say he is definitely MR. EXCITEMENT!! I really cannot wait until the fall and football season has made its way back to Hattiesburg.

Break Out the Brooms

First of all, Southern Miss to the top!!! What an excellent weekend for baseball. The weather for Sunday's game was absolutely perfect. However, I am ready for things to warm up, where some of us won't have to dress like eskimos to make it through the game. Sorry Mrs. Cindy.. I had to do it.
Yesterday's game was very exciting. Our rally started early with three runs coming in the first inning. I was really impressed by the play of Bo Davis this weekend. He has really improved over the off season. I believe we have one of the best 1, 2, 3, 4 hitters in America. Davis, Dozier, Sutton, and either Winstead or Maxie....Not to take anything from the rest of the team, but I believe Sutton will lead the team in RBI's and probably batting average.
Lipscomb would not go away however, they rallied to move ahead 4-3 in the 3rd inning with back-to-back homeruns.
After making my way back home I was informed by my roomate that Maxie went 4-5 yesterday. I really had no clue that he such a great day. He was a silent killer in the game. However, the hero of the game was probably Trey Cuevas. After Trey Sutton was intentionally walked, the crowd was really getting fired up. I'm sure someone in the dugout told Catfish to take advantage to the disrespect that the pitcher just showed him, by pitching around Sutton.
Of course, you probably know what happened next....Cuevas....first pitch...long homerun over center-field wall to put the good guys up 8-5.

However, Lipscomb was being a little scrappy on Sunday and simply would not go away. They rallied to tie the game in the top of the 8th. Colin Cargilll shutdown Lipscomb in the top of the ninth and the Eagles would not stop fighting. Keith Winstead came in and had a walk-off hit to win the game. It was fantastic.

I encourage everyone to get out to the Pete and watch a game.. become a huge Southern Miss fan and stick around to the fall and watch Larry Fedora and his boys put on a clinic to the rest of Conference USA.

I am looking forward till tomorrow where the Eagles are back in action at the Pete against UL Monroe...first pitch: 6:30. BE THERE!!!!
I'm sure some of us will need our eskimo suit, I've heard that it will be rather cold Tuesday Night.. Bundle up and let's see the Eagles move to 4-0.
I hope everyone is enjoying the blog.. I am really enjoying doing it, however, I really never thought that it was for me...

***CRUISE UPDATE***   4 months.. 19 days...1 hour...34 minutes and 15 seconds till we leave for the cruise!!!!! Woooooohoooooooo (I know a lot of you guys enjoyed that)

Oh yeah, almost forgot...Lisa.. You are the best!!!!

Way To Go...2-0

Well, I'm back from a chilly afternoon at Pete Taylor. I am really not liking this weather. I have always enjoyed the days whenever I can come out to the ballpark with shorts, a t-shirt, and flip-flops and be comfortable. Well, I have to say that I was a little nervous during the first 5 no hit innings by Lipscomb. However, Michael Ewing broke through in the bottom of the 5th with a hit to lead off the inning. We rallied and moved ahead 4-3. From here our relievers came in and saved the day. Ballinger.. from my hometown of Hurley, and East Central High School, my alma mater, pitched through the top of the ninth. Tyler Conn, from Ocean Springs came in and struck out the side in the top of the 9th to win the game, 6-3.
I have been well informed by my girlfriend, Lisa Knight, that I need to mention her in this blog...Or I will be in trouble, so.... without further ado.. I am without a doubt dating the greatest girl ever. We have been together for 3 1/2 years this March. She loves sports, USM and me...what more could you ask for?? Well, hopefully she will find this post adequate. However, I do mean every word of it.

I, of course plan on going tomorrow to hopefully pull out the sweep. Southern Miss to the top.. and it looks like the guys basketball team will win in Tulane, final score: 70-59 the Good Guys

Till Next Time,
